Can't believe how quickly my 7 months have gone. First three were really tough but the last 4 have been the best of my life. Good luck to anyone else who starts this week.

Are you senior or primary school hercules? What is a typical day, i.e. how many hours at school and how many in evening/weekend? Did you always know you could cope with the discipline?

Edam - the employment law thing is only useful if I am going to leave. I can't throw the law in his face and then continue to work there, my life would not be worth living. The risk of taking legal action and then losing is too great. Sounds like a lot of stress too. Actually think I would have a good case but too scary to consider.

I really admire people with a genuine grievance who can take on their employer using industrial tribunals etc. On the one hand I am outraged for you, springerspaniel, that you're effectively being forced out of a well-paid job that you (I assume) enjoy doing, and I'm sure do well, simply because your boss is an arse from another century.

On the other, I know exactly the kind of place you're working in and how pointless it would be to pursue anything there. What really annoys me is that one of my (female) colleagues think she's dealing with the cutting edge of sexism in the workplace cos one of our (male) colleagues suggested going go-karting for our Christmas do!

Springer, I tried to CAT you but no joy. Happy to discuss things if you wish.

What's CAT? DH has asked for more flexible hours so he can pick LO up at 5 three times a week so at least he gets some more Daddy time.

CAT = Contact Another Talker. Currently you're set up not to allow people to contact you via a link at the top of the screen. Think you update it in Member Profile.

Glad dh's employers are a little more progressive!

Aha - have changed it. Was in mail preferences.

Have resent, but will require a bit of time for MN Towers to process the request.

I guess it can't do any harm to talk to someone about it.
