Applying for a job in Housing-any advice?

I really want this job. It's part time, as an estate managment officer, for local authority.
I have worked in lettings in the past, and in public sector, but not actually in the role I am going for.

I would be liasing with tenants, supporting regenaration schemes, resovling anti-social behaviour problems, reporting repairs and generally helping to ensure the estates in my juristiction are running as they should.

I think I would be good at it, as I am a tenant myself, I care about communities being pleasant to live in, I like being out and about, can talk to anyone and like to get stuck in.
It also fits really well with my other job, hours wise.

Does anyone work in this area, and do you have any advice to help me get an interview!?
