Lady of leisure - what next?

I'm about to take a semi-enforced break from work after 20 years of working full-time (with 2 short maternity leaves of 3 months each!) If I'm careful with the pennies I can probably take a year off, and am seeing it as an opportunity to make some changes to my life. Lots of short-term plans: get fit, lose weight, clear the house out, start maing my own clothes, pick my girls up from school... But as I'm not getting any younger and the economy is not getting any better, I realise that I need to have half an eye on how I'm going to make money, sooner rather than later, as it will be tough if DH is sole breadwinner. I have solid commercial and management experience, and must be able to put that to some good use. I don't want to fill the coffers of US media giants anymore and am realistic about salary. Ideas anyone? I'm keen to hear from other mumsnetters who have been in similar situations.

If you can, take some time to be the lady of leisure you deserve to be! BUT, from experience I'd say don't entirely remove yourself from the job market. Had you thought about working for yourself as a consultant, you could pick and choose your days/clients then?
