I have had three children and would love to find a job working with pregnancy or new mums and their babies. I am a software developer but just love everything about babies and mums and pregnancy and didnt know if anyone had any ideas. Am 39 so hope its not too late for me.

What about becoming a doula?

buggyRunner · 30/12/2011 20:51

There are loads of sheltered housing facilities for young mums and babies

Thanks everyone. May have to be something voluntary, but dont mind. Just means will have to wait until all kids are at school so i can afford to take a day off work or something. Currently paying through the nose with 2 kids in childcare. Just want to spread the love!

I almost volunteered as a breastfeeding peer supporter for our local hospital.

There is also Homestart who look for volunteers to help families - struggling new mums etc.

Fostering? There is a need for foster carers for young pregnant teenagers and new mums. Hope you find something that inspires you!
