Musings.... on bank holiday entitlement when on maternity leave

First off - my DS is now 3.6 so this was obviously a while ago Grin

I've been thinking about when I was on ML. At the end of my year off on ML, I took one month (25 days) annual leave which was accrued while on ML, before coming back into the office.

We get 25 days per year + bank holidays - so essentially 33 days per year. Should I have been paid for the 8 bank holidays as well as the 25 days A/L or is there some sort of clause where this doesn't count?

Not a cause for huge concern, but 8 extra days pay would come in handy right now! Grin

TIA

I thought the Bank Holiday thing started in October 2008 so depending on how long you were on maternity leave maybe you were due a few days.

I was on Mat leave from May 2008 until June 2009 - then a month leave, so didn't return to the office until July 2009.

If that's the case, I might have a chat with HR - especially as there was only one bank holiday after I went on ML before October 2008.....

It applied to babies due on or after 5 October 2008, so unlikely to apply to you I imagine.

Bummer... DS was born in June 2008 :( Oh well!

We specify in our policy - accrual of contractual holidays and bank holidays during OML, but statutory holidays in AML, no accrual of bank holidays.
