why did you apply for the job?
how do you feel you match the criteria/ person spec of the post?
give an example of how you have dealt with a difficult member of staff?
how would you set about building a high performing team?
how would you deal with a customer who....?
why do you want to work for 'x' company?
why did you leave your last post?

beanandspud · 21/11/2011 22:31

Why do you want this job?
Why do you want to work for us?
What do you know about the company?
What skills and experience do you have?
Can you think of a time when you have...
... handled a particularly difficult customer?
... had to work as part of a team?
... delivered outstanding customer service?

pinkteddy · 21/11/2011 22:37

What skills and experience will you bring to the role?
Can you give us an example of a difficult situation you have dealt with at work?
What qualities should a good team member possess?
Time management/working under pressure question.
Examples of working on your own initiative.

What is your greatest weakness? Dh says (he does graduate recruitment for his co. sometimes) do NOT answer 'I'm a perfectionist' Grin

What has been your greatest challenge at work and how have you overcome it?

In terms of your career, where do you see yourselves in x years from now?

Good luck and remember rescue remedy is fantastic at calming the nervesSmile

jollydiane · 21/11/2011 22:46

How would you deal with conflict in the team that you manage?
What experience do you have for dealing with customer complaints?
How would you motivate your team?
Have you ever missed a deadline? How did you handle this?

Hard to say without knowing the format of the interview but I find it helps to have a few key examples of where I've done well at work thought through. These are my killer selling points. I briefly outline situation explain the action I personally took to resolve it and outline the result adding in something nice and humble at the end about what I learnt for next time. Having sat on a interview panel for most of the day I'd say the explaining what you did bit is clearly is the key not just how but why.

StillSquiffy · 22/11/2011 08:53

Worst question is usually 'do you have any questions for me?' - I've interviewed shedloads of people and although I have pretty much made my decision well before this point of an interview, I have on many times changed my mind about a candidate because of the questions they pose.

work out what you are going to ask here.

The best two to ask (IMO) are "what is it about this company that makes you get up in the morning and want to come to work?" and "If you had a magic wand, what would be the first thing you changed in this organisation?"

oflip · 22/11/2011 08:57
