Any counsellors out there who could give advice?

I am currently a SAHM who gave up my job because it was unsustainable (often had to work until 9pm, childcare didn't work out etc.)

I want to work flexibly and have been considering totally different career options. I have always been interested in counselling and am considering doing a degree part time. It would involve time and money, both of which are lacking at the moment, so it would be a big commitment for me.

I realise that with counselling, you don't make an awful lot of money but I want pursue something that I am interested in, be sustainable long term with regard to working hours and family and can make a bit of money! Can anyone give advice on whether it would be a good idea to partake in a course? I recently spoke to someone who thought I would be mad to do so because I would be unlikely to get any work at the end of it.

Any advice would be really appreciated!
