I have to tell work in the next week or so that I wont be back in June but plan on taking AML until the end of August.

In my letter I want to request working on specific days(I already work p/t) Do I have to give reasons for this? is it worth stating the reasons I feel these days would work well for them? I don't currently know which dept I'll be working in so can't be v specific on that.

I also want to request to take some of my A/L prior to returning , does this go in the letter?

And do I discuss KIT days? I've requested a course for August before I return but I'd like to do some KIT either working in the team ( if I return to current role) or some of the online training& some team time if I'm in a new team.

My current manager won't be my manager in a couple of weeks & if I stay in my team, that manager is on Mat leave so not straightforward hierarchy above me to go to.

If your manager is changing they may not be able to make a decision. Best to extend your AML and holidays in one letter then phone your new boss and ask about courses / where your working in another.

There is a major restructure going on & my grade is being sorted at the end of may. People are leaving as their jobs go but new structure starts in September (hence me timing my return for that).

I was hoping to get my request re days in prior to the sorting to avoid being allocated them without any input.

I was alsogoing to offer some flexibility 'with adequate notice I will be able to swap days to attend training/one off events' but not 100% on phrasing.
