how do you work out what you want to do?

I am looking to return to work soon and want to change careers (can't return to mu old area and am quite pleased about that). Problem is I have no idea what I want to do. I know what I don't want. Anyone got any suggestions for websites dealing with career ideas?Thanks.

There is a book 'what colour is your parachute' which is aimed at helping with career change and what you want to do.

I have it and there are some good exercises in it but knowing what you want to do and then actually being successful in finding a job are two different things - particularly in todays climate .
