8 ways women can get ahead in the workplace (from an article by CNN earlier this year)

1. Quit thinking the workplace is fair
2. What are you waiting for?
3. Don't be afraid to ask
4. Don't ever, ever cry at work
5. Make the most out of feedback and criticism
6. Look outside the office for opportunities
7. Remember wealth is more than a paycheck
8. The way you look and talk matters

What do you think? (orginal article, annoyingly punctuated with adverts, here)

I'd say this applies to men and women alike (well apart from crying, but some men whinge a lot so that's probably equal!)

That was the general conclusion at the event - except that women are (generally) worse at 3,5 and 6 (allegedly)

I would agree with that! Probably down to confidence.
