Midwifery training with children ???

I'm thinking of training to become a midwife once my children are school age. The reason being I've heard it's 3 years full time and pretty full on with shift work etc.

Just wondered if anyone had any experience of this and can give me any advice.

My ds' are currently 3.3yo and 10mo and I'm wavering over whether to have another. I'm interested to hear from others who have trained whilst having children and what it had been like. Is doable?

TIA Smile

My boy are 13 & 10 so its a little easier, we sit and do our homework together Grin

I know this is a really old post now but I came across it after googling for some info!
I've read all the thread and seen that you are from Berwick which is where I'm living as well! I just want to know if you've managed to do this yet?! I have exactly the same concerns as you have had in this post. Always wanted to be a midwife and after having my son I want to be one even more. But I'm unsure as to when is the best time to do it/I know I want more children/the nearest hospital is an hour away!
