employer not responding re my holiday entitlement

On return from my maternity leave of 1 year, i returned to work in a redeployed role, as my previous job was redundant . I work the same hours now as i did previously (18.5 per week. )

Despite several attempts to ask HR, Staffing and my current workplace ( i work for a local council) No one can tell me what my holiday entitlement is!! All I get told is " we will get back to you" This is ridiculous and Im getting really stressed about not knowing.

I believe it to be working out around 16 days Im due, having looked at the BERR site.

My mat leave started last september and I took exactly a year off.

any help would be appreciated.

thanks!

Have you got a contract? Have you got a copy of your old contract? I'd assume the same as your old post, as they will have given you a post on the same terms and conditions.

How many times have you asked, and how long have you been asking?

Put your request in writing (email is good as it will time stamp it for you).

Agree with hairyFairy if nothing else has changed apart from the actual role, your holiday should be the same.

Hi Ive been asking since my return to work on 29th September. Ive asked several people about 6 times now. I was in contact with my employer during my mat leave many times and holidays were never mentioned. I assumed I would get my entitlement. Ive already had a bad time trying to stand up for ny maternity rights...which I finally got an apology for and now im worried that im viewed as a trouble maker...which Im not!!!..

I have similar terms and conditions , and over 6 years service.

I have put it in writing too.

thanks for responding btw.

I would just work along the lines of it being the same as you had before, in your situation. It's getting rather late in the year (as I'm sure you've noticed) if your leave is April to April as ours is.

unfortunately our leave year is Jan to Jan. Also I wasnt allowed any annual leave for the first 4 weeks back because I was on trial period of redeployment!!

nightmare!..

Well you either need to get an answer quickly or to have your file ready to show them that they need to allow you to carry your leave over as they have made it impossible for you to take it.
