Would you apply for a job that is being re graded?

Whole council is being regraded. I'm currently on maternity leave but have appealed against my own regrading.

Dh isn't working & I keep doing job searches and have come across a job I fancy.

It's closer to home, similar to part of my job BUT without the emotional stress. It's current salary is less than mine but it's a few more hours a week and I wouldn't be travelling as much so saving time/money that way.

This job is also being regraded and my concern is if the salary drops it would be too much of a pay cut.

As I'm not at work I can't access the info on the intranet to see what it is graded as(not 100% it's there even) and I don't want people to know I am thinking of a change.

Other issue is I'm not due back at work until June so I would go back earlier if I got it although I could go home in my breaks.

WWYD?

Apply for it. What's the worst that could happen?

If it's down graded it's a bigger pay cut & im the only one working!

They are supposed to be telling us pay scales in Jan which would give me time to think about job BUT they are way behind on appeals so it's not likely to happen yet,

I might phone up.

I'm currently working in Social services & the emotional stress is v high. Other job not in SS which removes the going home & worrying about what's happening with my cases over the w/e
