Applying for two different jobs at the same company at the same time.

Is this a no no?

I've seen two jobs advertised, one I'm qualified and experienced for, and one which pays slightly more money, and I think I could wangle my way in to(maybe.....or maybe I'm just kidding myself because it sounds like a more interesting job), even though I don't have any relative experience.

Obviously I would have to mould my CV differently for each job application.

Would I look like an idiot applying for both jobs at the same time?

No. Go for it. It just looks as if you're keen. I've often applied for two jobs in the same company at the same time, at different salary levels. Nobody has ever raised an eybrow. Just be prepared to be questioned about it at interview eg which job would you prefer and why; if you were offered both, which would you choose.
