Hi. I work part time in a school. I'm not due back to work till jan 11 & my maternity allowance ends in dec. I'm moving 20 miles next week, too far to travel on norfolk public transport daily. So i'm wondering when to tell my employer i won't be coming back. If i tell him now will it mess up my maternity allowance? It's paid through the benefit system. Thanks.

It won't affect your maternity allowance but as you get all your contratual benefits including holiday during your maternity leave, you should make sure your employment doesn't end until right at the end of your year maternity leave.

Thanks. I told them this morning. Going in later to say goodbye. At least they've had plenty of notice.
