Advice on moving into the travel industry

Due to family commitments I gave up work 5yrs ago.My former career was in hotel management and my job roles ranged from C&B,Operations,Revenue management before finally making it to a GM post for 4 years. Whilst I loved the job I just can't do the irratic hours now I am a single parent.Although I am still quite flexible with prior planning.

I am not entirely sure of all the job opportunities that I would be suited to,I think I might fancy working as a Business travel consultant or world travel consultant.Neither am I clear on how I break into this field. I assume I will need CRS training/experience. Any idea how I could go about it?

I wouldn't mind starting near the bottom if I could progress fairly rapidly in a few years. I could also cope for several years on a lower salary.

I would need to be in Lancashire, Merseyside or Cheshire any advice/suggestions would be very welcome.
