NHS - claiming childcare vouchers while on maternity leave?

I will be going on mat leave in december (NHS) and I am getting nervous about still claiming childcare vouchers while I'm off. All I've read here and linked from here seems to say it can and should be done. I would be paying for most/some of the value of the vouchers for several weeks during mat leave because I would get a bit more pay than just SMP for a certain number of weeks. But for the rest of the time when my employer would be paying for the vouchers it seems really cheeky and I don't want to have to have to fight with them over it.

So I'm just wondering if anyone has done this successfuly in the NHS? Did you have a fight on your hands or did they accept the situation?

my friend did
I cancelled mine
you have lost out on some of your pay that your ML is calcuilated on, and then for the time you're still paid you will be getting them deducted too!
So I think it's not cheeky, I think I was in a better position

Thanks SPB. Do you know if your friend got them paid by the NHS when only on SMP/unpaid mat leave?

sorry, what do you mean?
She had a year off and got them all the way through, even when she was on zero
