3 months work - no expenses, no contract, no job description and changes to role

Hi,

First time poster, please be nice to me!!

I started a new job in June, travelling sales. My job was based between 2 cities, I live in one of the cities it's based in. Got told last week that my job was now based in the city I don't live in. I am now having to travel 50+ miles per day to do my job.

I have been asking for expenses (using my own car) for weeks. Still nothing. I have asked them for a contract and job description since I started. Still nothing.

My questions are... how much notice do I have to give if I don't have a contact? Any tips from anyone on getting my expenses paid quickly? Can they change my role without notice? I suspect they can because I don't have a contract!

If you don't have a contract its 1 week notice but if you've been there under a year i'd just walk.

Normally it would be constructive dismissal if they move your job 50 miles away but as you've been there under a year its still technically constructive dismissal you just can't do anything about it as you can't go to a tribunal with less than a years service.

If that was me I'd walk out now. What can they do? nothing basically, although if you do, you won't get the expenses you are owed.

OR go sick and hand in a week's notice today....

Thanks for your help guys, I am in the process of applying for a few other jobs so as soon as I hear back from them, I'll walk. The good news is I got my expenses for June July on Wednesday. I just need to keep them on side so they will give me my August claim when I submit it at the end of this week.

sigh
