So, how old were you when you started your own business?

And if successful, how did you know it was the right time?

But I don't think it matters what age you are.

I didn't know it was the right time, particularly. It was more that I was pushed as it followed being made redundant and I thought, well, being employed isn't all that great, so why not have a go at being my own boss.

If you are thinking of doing it, good luck!

I was 26, but it was more to do with having 3 young children and needing an income without having to pay for 3 lots of childcare than my age (or indeed ability!)

I'll be starting mine before the year is out and i am 24. same reasons as pantaloons.

24 and I knew it was the right time because it fitted in with me starting a family and I needed to be at home.

i'm 32. been qualified for 10 years.
hate my boss, but it's a full time, permanent contract which are hard to find.
private work seems to be coming in which i do in the evenings.
just feeling a bit nervous but excited.
would love to have flexibility to my day so i could be around when the kids need me.
