Puberty blockers as a treatment for gender incongruence or dysphoria are currently only available for people under the age of 18 as part of an approved clinical trial. NHS England has also paused prescribing cross-sex hormones for people under 18. This briefing summarises the policy position on the use of hormone treatments ahead of a debate in the Lords on the appropriate age of consent.

I think these is a thread about the Conversion Practices Bill but thought this was interesting on its own.

I am not sure how, or if, this differs from the earlier House of Commons Library briefing back in March https://commonslibrary.parliament.uk/research-briefings/cbp-10596/

There doesn't seem to be anything more recent from them.

The debate mentioned in the OP took place on Thursday. I don't think there's a thread about the debate.

Lots of interesting contributions. Some sensible, some true believers.

I disagree that parents can ethically consent - with the children assent -to puberty blockers treatment. I find encouraging, though, that only 20 children out of 1600 may be considered eligible for the trial.

Thanks for the link.

It is hard to keep up with everything. Will try and read over the weekend.
