Lots of interesting looking sessions here for feminists.

Surrogacy, early release, free speech, Pride, puberty blockers, 'women and the woke workplace', womb transplants ...

Who was it recently who called me a Nazi because I'd read Salman Rushdie?

Kinda got the same vibes.

Thanks, for sharing, Mouldy, but I have to say, your post sounds a bit paranoid. As well as bitter and aggressive. Overdoing the 'Decoding subtext' can easily tip into imagining things that aren't actually there.

I think if you’re the only one who can hear the dog whistle, maybe you need to consider whether you’re actually a dog (I fear I may have taken this metaphor too far)

anyhow, this looks extremely interesting and I could probably make it to some of it, for flagging Arabella

This event features edgy, provocative topics which are just right-wing talking points raising "legitimate concerns" and "just asking questions" from the usual suspects - the least cancelled people in the world. The seminar summaries are all subtext, but it's not hard to decode. Of course gender critical speakers and seminars are included - they are all cut from the same cloth.

We have the usual nonsense about renewable energy being expensive, historical facts being left wing, disabled people gaming the system, DEI being bad and re-litigating bad-faith arguments about puberty blockers.

It's funded by the same crypto arsehole who gave Reform £36 million, a convicted criminal pardoned by Trump, who supports Toby Young, Restore and platforms anti-abortions and far-right demagogues.

Five of the speakers are from Reform, there are GB news presenters and the usual collection of CG cranks.

Have fun, but know who you are mixing with.

What’s your problem with people who call out China’s record on human rights?

Also - what's wrong with asking questions?

The best thing to do with ideas is to examine them.

Then you can see which ones hold up to scrutiny and which ones don't.

If you predetermine that some ideas are just wrong and not able to be debated (who gets to make that decision on everyone else's behalf anyway? ) - they go underground and grow.

Well said. Let the sunlight in.
