I know they look almost identical, and I can see how you might have got VERY confused with how difficult it is to comprehend, but the Eiffel Tower is not a public toilet. Or a single sex ward in a hospital. Or even a women’s prison. You could look at some picture of these different things to help you understand.

Completely crazy that women were removed from their workplace to satisfy the completely unnecessary demands of some male visitors.

The Eiffel Tower has history for this sort of thing, I heard. When, during the Occupation, Hitler wanted to visit, an essential bit of kit from the lift went missing.
