I've not had chance to catch up yet, but Surrogacy Concern's X has a handy summary of points made https://x.com/SurrogConcern/status/2096986542619181514 and a link to the full recording.

Special mention to Jonathan Hinder and Neil Shastri Hurst for actually talking about the rights of the child.

I watched probably the last hour, so I missed the opening speeches. Most of the speakers I saw were pretty well informed, I thought. They were mostly anti the changes. The Conservative shadow minister was particularly good. It's not going anywhere.

Agree. The consensus seems to be that the surrogates do not become the parents at birth. Good thing. Protects women. The men who brought this debate must be misogynists.

The mother risks her life and health, but they can't possibly be expected to put up with a relatively short legal process that protects the child and mother.

Jonathan Hinder, Labour MP, made a good contribution to the debate. It's refreshing to see Left wing MPs who respect women as human beings rather than birthing units and who want to protect children from being commoditised.
