I have just this actual morning told my DD that if she gets lost in Glasgow she should approach a policewoman, preferably, but a policeman will probably be okay, too.

I can't say that, can I?

'A police officer who took his own life in May was a violent rapist who carried out a spate of sexual attacks and attempted murders of women over at least 14 years, the BBC can reveal.
PC Alan Greer's first known victim was a woman he raped in her home in Glasgow in 2012 after she had called the police to report being the victim of a crime.
The woman reported the sex attack by Greer late last year, sparking one of Police Scotland's biggest ever anti-corruption inquiries.
Detectives have so far uncovered a further eight victims, five of whom were sex workers, attacked while Greer was off duty.
It has emerged that Greer used hundreds of prostitutes throughout his police career, and it is anticipated more victims of his violence will be identified.'

I very much hope his wife and child have plenty of support. I'm pretty sure they will have suffered, too.

Thousands of graphic videos and images were recovered, revealing that Greer had used hundreds of prostitutes throughout his police career.
Officers are not yet even halfway through the files, but have already identified five sex workers who have been seriously sexually assaulted.
If Greer was alive, it is understood police would have sought charges of attempted murder in some of the cases, such was the level of violence used.
Three other victims have been identified, including two female police officers Greer had taken inappropriate photographs of while they were training.'

On the offchance anyone reading this has experience of this man, the police are still investigating and asking for people to come forward.

This is horrific, absolutely horrific. I feel for his wife and child and family too, this must be such a hard thing to take.

Most are decent. But unfortunately, professions where you can legimately control people will attract controlling people. (And obviously, controlling is a severe understatement here).

Its not clear how old your child is... but Police, security guards, a women with children, or shop workers are probably good people to approach for children.

Teens/young adults... yes, I probably would advise caution with lone male, what ever he is wearing.

Another day - another violent rapist cop. So many of them. It’s a shame he took his own life so he can’t stand trial for his victims to get justice.

I expect and hope that Police Scotland will be conducting a forensically thorough deep dive into his contacts and associates, both within and without the police.

It's increasingly obvious that any males are a risk. For any female of any age.

The figures are bleak.

I don’t like that they are calling 14 year olds “women”. That adultifies his victims that were children.

They weremostly prosttitites is this why it wasn’t being reported, or wasn’t investigated - something not right

It seems that only one woman had reported her abuse, as far as I can tell. More may come out as they continue to investigate.

Suspect that as more is revealed, just as with Couzens it will be apparent that many of his colleagues were fully aware.

He abused women over a period of 14 years.

This is my concern.

I would think most of his crimes were not reported to the police - because he was a policeman!
Sex workers are well aware of the corruption in the police, they wouldn’t care to report it to his mates.
As previously mentioned, Wayne Couzens colleagues were aware of his rape ‘fantasies’

There were no 14 year olds mentioned. 14 years his crimes are going back. So far.
