Iranian singer sentenced to 74 lashes for performing without hijab

Iranian singer Parastoo Ahmadi has been sentenced to 74 lashes for performing without a hijab during a live-streamed YouTube concert in 2024, human rights groups have said.

Ahmadi, 29, and eight members of her production team including musicians have been sentenced for the performance, according to court documents from the criminal court of Qom province seen by rights activists.

The group have been banned from leaving the country and engaging in artistic activities for two years.

The charges against them included offending public decency and the publication of “vulgar and immoral content” online.

This is what passes for critical thinking with some people, too many people. They're quite happy to dismiss the plight of women in Iran, well documented assault's, that have been happening for years, because it doesn't fit in with their sacred culturerism, as Trumpian mis-information from the 'far right'.

I see no difference between the Iranian regime and the leftoids in the West, they both make me sick to my stomach.

I can definitely see a difference between the Iranian government legally torturing women and random leftwing online commenters in the west.
