Guillaume Bucci, who was a bank manager at the time, was accused of using the pretext of sadomasochistic sex games to manipulate his partner from 2015 to 2022 into torture and rape, including by strangers he found online.

The 51-year-old argued that his ex-partner consented, saying on Saturday that he "did not think he was hurting her".

But during the trial, the 42-year-old plaintiff, Laeticia R. who now suffers from significant disabilities as a result of the abuse described what she called the "psychological control" exerted by her former partner.

Bucci admitted to several acts, including strangulation, burning, and acts of bestiality, but said they were "consensual sexual games in the context of their intimate relationship".

He also admitted to pressuring his ex-partner into prostitution. Laeticia R. told the court she had "stopped counting" at nearly 500 men.

It's relentless the depravity knows no bounds.
To leave her with disabilities and all the other horrors he put her through.
How does this woman come back from that.

deeahgwitch · 25/05/2026 19:53

I only read about this case today in an Irish newspaper.
What UK newspapers featured it ?

If you put double dashes before and after something it defaults to score through - much like putting * before and after something bolds it. Not sure what the code is for italics.

That poor woman.
If only good men spoke up louder and called out misogynistic behaviour. 🥲

I just copied and pasted from article text. And preview didn't show this crossing out. It was only when I cam back to the thread later that I saw it. And was upset because the sentence that looked like it should be ignored. Sad

According to the Telegraph article she was also raped by her stepfather from the age of 7. That poor girl, that poor woman.
She was inspired by Gisele Pelicot to speak up.
Love and strength to them both.

Thanks again @IwantToRetire and @GenderlessVoid
Surprising the DM hasn’t picked it up. It would reach a wider audience and garner support for the victim.
It’s scary that men such as these live among us.

I too was surprised. And then part of me thought typical media.

The got totally onboard with reporting about Gisele Pelicot because for them it was a new news story.

Once it became clear, as more women spoke up, that it wasn't a one off, they just couldn't be bothered.

There have been at least 2 stories from the UK with similar situations that were just reported in a couple of paragraphs.

So the media outrage of GP was because it seem so out of the ordinary. Once the media found that sadly it was all too common they lost interest in reporting.
