I read a lot of Gloria Steinem and learnt about Cesar Chavez from her initially. He was a major campaigner in the 50s and 60s for better rights for Mexican migrant farm workers in the US. Dolores Huerta worked alongside him and was also an important feminist campaigner in his own right.
I bought a book on Chavez recently and was impressed with his work. And now these horrific crimes a credibly alleged in the NYT. How many more men will be exposed? It's chilling to think of how many may still be covered up.
