Police Scotland has finally seen sense and will be recording the sex of everyone they come into contact with whether that's a victim, witness or the accused with an extra field for gender.

The amount of time, energy and money that has gone into pretending that men can be women and that men with a woman fetish are the most vulnerable minority in the world is truly astonishing and utterly depressing.

These narcissistic entitled men have managed to create legal fiction, cancel and intimidate anyone who refused to go along with their ridiculous con trick, invaded women only spaces (including rape crisis centres where one sadistic pervert told female victims of male violence to "reframe their trauma"), been housed in women's prisons, stolen thousands of medals, scholarships and commercial opportunities from young sportswomen around the world, gleefully punched women in a boxing ring while the entire world looked on, turned the world upside down just so they can cosplay a male fantasy of what a woman should be.

To my mind this should not have required a rewrite of anything. The original field of ‘Sex’ should be used as it always was (I.e. before all this became an issue). ‘Gender Identity’ should be the additional field with code added to accommodate the circumstances in which this information might be relevant. The main change required will be to the data itself to correct the contents of the ‘Sex’ field for those for whom it was changed.

A tiny miracle. Now if only Sweeney would stop wasting money fighting for perverted sex offending men to be treated like women because their feelings matter more than adult human females, we might be on track to normality.

True but.. why the hell are there 22 different systems in the first place? I thought everything was supposed to be more central and streamlined in the wonderful age of digital. Or are there 22 "counties" in Scotland in which case I'll zip it.

We only have one police force now, so I don't understand why we would have different systems. It's been a good while since each region had a separate force.

See what they can do when they try, it's a pity they didn't try to do it years ago. I hope it's a sign that all the state machinery will be finally get back to the truth and reality.

I'm glad they will be accurately recording the sex of victims. Trans-identifying women face high rates of sexual violence and VAWG should not be covered up by identification. It's also good they are recording trans-identification so we have an accurate idea about the offending rates of trans-identified men.

So long as any gender field has a 'none' option. I strongly object to any demographic system that tries to make me pick a gender identity. My current approach is to put 'prefer not to say' in every field if the 'gender' field doesn't have a 'none' option.

And most of the time it probably isn't relevant. I don't particularly see why the police would need to record the gender identity of every witness.

(To be honest it annoys me that we even have to declare sex on so many forms; why does it matter so much in a notionally egalitarian society?)

Plenty of trans identifying men are determined to claim they are of the female sex too, so the police will need to be prepared to say “no you’re not mate” and put down the actual answer. See responses to debates about the census questions for proof.

The sex of victims is relevant though analysis patterns/trends.
I agree less so about witnesses but they are treated the same under the Victims Code which is legally binding.
I seem to remember something about the fact that all protected characteristics should be recorded for victims witnesses and suspects, but may have been wishful thinking

I suspect that the changes to 22 different systems are to add gender identity. Presumably the systems already had a box for sex which was simply not completed accurately. Now they need both sex and gender and we can actually see the crimes TiMs commit. 22 systems - perhaps for different things? Crime/victims/staffing/public consultations?

In theory Police Scotland are one force. They got rid of the 'counties' about 15 years ago.

22 systems! That's worse than the NHS. I remember reading about the capture of systems in a WRN report and of course it was females who suffered the most especially those who said they were the opposite sex.

The NHS systems are even worse. Women's Rights Network did a report last year about how it was such a mess doctors can't be sure of the sex of a patient any more. If the doctor is reviewing test results or the patient isn't present, that is potentially really dangerous.

It's a good question, but I'd think the majority of people presenting of interest to the police at the time, based on the men that get into court and whose pictures are in the press, would be easy to correctly sex on sight. And there's always the cheek swab.

On the plus side, sticker charts for governments and public bodies is a Thing I could get behind. I am prepared to supply the chocolate drops.
