Yet more Reddit censorship (women’s lib sub banned)

donkey86 · 26/02/2026 12:06

The Women’s Liberation subreddit has been banned and deleted. I suppose it was only a matter of time. The fourth wave women sub is clinging on but who knows for how long.

And then people like @Christinapple are surprised when in the real world most people are ok with single sex services and sports

SternJoyousBeev2 · 26/02/2026 16:54

Is there an r/boring mansplaining prick sub?

SternJoyousBeev2 · 26/02/2026 16:55

Or an r/I’m a snitch and a prick sub?

FranticFrankie · 26/02/2026 16:56

Your favourite subs just "shit-talk" ( what an awful expression) women though Chris
And that's hateful but typical of many men. Such bitterness

SternJoyousBeev2 · 26/02/2026 16:59

Ooooh that exciting buzz of the notifications coming in. 🙄

I know, right?

I thought we terfs were supposed to be the total saddoes with no life and no friends. At least, that's how TRAs like to portray us.

Yet another thing they're taking away from us! 😆

Christinapple · 26/02/2026 17:01

Unlike Twitter, Reddit actually has active moderation which it enforces. Hateful homophobia and transphobia is not allowed there, and making a sub to fill the purpose of an already banned sub is not allowed.

It is time to accept Reddit just isn't the place to trash talk trans people, non?

SternJoyousBeev2 · 26/02/2026 17:05

“Hateful homophobia”….disingenuous dude! Homosexuality is same sex attraction.

This is beyond eye-watering and past falling-off-the-chair levels of hypocrisy, given the levels of shit talking about anyone remotely GC in the trans reddit sub.

"being able to discuss matters that actually affected us"

What you mean is you are upset reddit isn't providing you with a space to shit-talk trans people?

I have seen other r/gendercritical resurrection attempts on reddit, some subs pretending to be about "lesbian rights", that have appeared on reddit and then get banned, and every single post on there is just hate towards trans people. The most common posts are hateful implications that every trans person is a sex offender/potential sex offender, posts with a strange fixation on toilets or sick "jokes" about suicide. The usual "tropes".

I do like it when such subs appear and I can take a look before they get banned. It means a lot of homophobes and transphobes in one place so I can report them all in just a few minutes (hate and threats are against the rules on reddit) then watch my notifications that come over the next few days letting me know the users were getting temp or perma bans.

Is the 'apple' part of your username in reference to your Adams apple per chance?

Have you actually seen how r/transgenderUK speaks about women - the biological kind, not the identity kind? Why aren't they banned for hate speech, or is that OK because - you know - the "most vulnerable and marginalised"™ of all? Tell that to women in Afghanistan, where the new legal code puts women on the very bottom rung of society, alongside slaves. The sheer arrogant maleness in your post is SO revealing.

FranticFrankie · 26/02/2026 17:36

You and your ilk are nasty hypocrites Chris. Your mates spout such misogynistic, bitter, bitchy and plain nasty comments about women and these posts still stand. The mods are ok with this presumably? "Shit-talk" is ok as long as it flows one way- towards women.
Jealousy is not a nice trait

Greyskybluesky · 26/02/2026 16:48

I helped make Reddit a less hateful place even more of an echo chamber than it already is

And people try and tell us MN is an echo chamber!

I'm banned from posting on r/transgenderUK, but I can still up or down vote posts and comments. 😁

dhinwiz · 26/02/2026 17:39

WatchingWong · 26/02/2026 13:54

Reddit is ridiculous. I was banned for hate speech because someone said that no one at all would benefit if men were banned from women's sports in the Olympics, and I replied that actually it would be good for women and girls who had worked hard to get where they were, because it would make competitions fair.

That's literally all I said, and they claimed it was hate speech!

Don't stop doing it though. Reasonable voices need to be heard

I didn't find this at all creepy. No sir. No way.

Reddit moderators see no issue with the existence of subs such as r/womenarethings

Reddit moderators were very keen to silence any mention of their employment of Aimee Challenor

Reddit moderation is misogyny in action, it's hardly surprising it's lauded by the sort of creepy weirdos who get excited about having women banned for wrongthink

If you've seen anything there that you believe is against Reddit's TOS on threats or stirring up hatred then do make a report.

Reddit also has rules on false reports being used to harass users so you can't just report trans people or allies for being trans or an ally.

No, that's ok, thanks. I don't want to impede the little boys club going on there.
Besides, it's actually more helpful to #letthemspeak.

sickofsixseven · 26/02/2026 18:21

Lol we have perpetually online reddit incel out in the wild. Oh the thrill of those notifications coming in to say you got yet another woman banned 😄 Could you be anymore of a stereotype?

meanwhile, in the real world, most people are "gender critical", aka they dont actually believe that men can become women. No wonder they are so protective of their little echo chamber. I have no idea how these people actually function in life if they can't tolerate any difference of opinion, however minor. Must be so exhausting. Anyway, you are losing, even young people are sick of the gender nonsense at this stage. Attempting to stifle any debate doesnt work. Cry and report more I guess. That will definitely help.

Don't worry it just took a few mins and seeing the notifications coming in later that the users (and later the sub) were wiped from the face of Reddit was worth it. I helped make Reddit a less hateful place.

I sometimes post on Trans Reddit UK. See if you can find me 😁

Translation: I spend my free time muzzling women with all the glee of an Afghan mullah, while reassuring myself that I am a leftie on the RSOH.

The delusion runs deep.

Let’s ignore the plopper.

I feel for the moderator of women’s lib. She posted this on the moderator support forum but clearly don’t get any help.

That mod writes, 'Reddit has never protected these women'.

Plus ca change, plus ca meme bloody chose.

I hope that one day a few TRAs will come to realise just how much they have radicalised women. I used to be very easy-going about all sorts of things, blithely confident that women were on the cusp of equality.

After all the absolute bullshit of the past decade, the kids' bodies destroyed, the patronising twattery from the trans lobby, the brigading, the loss of women's spaces, the intrusion of men into women's sports and women's prisons, the women who have lost their jobs, or been obliged to see knob in the spa or the changing rooms when they really didn't want to, and the absolutely pathetic subservient rolling-over by the police, the entire political class up to and including the government, the NHS, the unions, the WI, the sodding universities (bastions of free speech my arse) I am miserably convinced that it will be decades, if not centuries, before we can finally kiss goodbye to our support human status. And it's made me absolutely sodding furious. I'm not up for compromise any longer, when once I was.

So little smug guy up the thread, rubbing your hands together with glee at gagging women who have entirely valid concerns, rest assured that you have achieved more than you ever intended.

Well fucking done.
