I'm not a politician, or a scolder 😊, but I'll give it a go. This bloke is spending an inordinate amount of the time and energy of the legal system. I suspect a report of his interactions with the police, the ones that went no further, would probably take hours to read. He's also clearly obsessive and one of his current obsessions is that he believes he's a woman. The British state has colluded in that obsession, helped to embed it. I don't think a metaphorical pick and shovel would shift that belief of his. The courts just want to deal with him, as quickly as possible. If they 'misgendered' him there's no doubt in my mind this stubborn and prickly character would kick off, make formal complaints, refuse to co-operate, all kinds of stupid shit. So, just to get through the business they have with him, for a quiet life, where it's not directly relevant they pander to him.
I actually don't quite buy my own argument. Courts deal with vulnerable, violent or just odd people everyday without bending over for them. However, the bench book has been amended but I think it still mandates they respect pronouns except where it's relevant, so they've made a rod for their own backs 🤡
I hope he never comes before the courts for any sexual offence. If he were to I'd expect pronouns would be avoided, neutral or biological.
