Excluding trans people won't stop you getting sued

...says the GLP.

"This week, both Girl Guiding and the Women’s Institute announced their intention to exclude trans women and girls. They say this is because of the ruling of the Supreme Court earlier this year on the meaning of sex under the Equality Act 2010. Both have said that they do not want to exclude trans people – but feel that they have been forced to by legal threats."

The GLP has spotted a money making opportunity wants to support women’s organisations who want to remain trans inclusive, and thinks the law is on their side.

Is the law on their side?

Of course that former tax barrister identifies as more of an expert on equality law than the Supreme Court.

They're not excluding trans people from joining though, they maintain they are single sex services and if they want to be able to make that claim, they need to exclude males only. Males are excluded from joining. Female transgender applicants would be welcome to join so where is the trans discrimination?

Indeed. And if they said that they were to continue including TiMs then they can be sued by men and boys who are not TiMs and being unlawfully excluded.

I am astonished at the amount of people popping up in my feed commenting they are "heartbroken" "devastated" etc at this decision.

(Once you read one article on it the algorithm keeps sending more).

People really do lack critical thinking don't they.

Why can't these people just accept the reality that male humans, under no circumstances can become female and therefore will never be women and so must by the law be excluded from female single sex spaces. So typically misogynist to make veiled threats at women and girls trying to carve out some female only space in the world.

Because they are religious zealots who either believe humans can change sex, or useful idiots who believe virtue signalling is important to show they are good people.
It took the Catholic Church almost 400 years to acknowledge Galileo Galilei's observation that the Earth revolved around the Sun ( and not murder him for heresy ). For some people the facts and empirical truth are irrelevant, faith sits above all else. These people believe to a dangerous extent.

The Foxbasher identifies as a lawyer but I'm starting to be suspicious that he truly can be one. He's just a grifter with an obsession.

Fragile mental health is at epidemic proportions. Every difficulty in life is an existential crisis. This what a decade of 'safe spaces' and 'trigger warnings' has achieved.

Seriously.

You'd think with all this awareness and sensitivity, we'd be seeing a population - particularly with children - who are much happier and healthier, and we're really not. Somewhere it began to make things much worse.

The same GLP that crowd funds money from people who don’t know any better, to then just throw it down the drain again when they lose?

because, let’s face it…..what have they ever won ???

he’s a A-grade grifter, drunk on his own ‘fox-killing’ power.

lechiffre55 · 04/12/2025 18:49

Does anyone know how the finances of the GLP work?
Like does fox guy get paid as both charity leader, and also for lawyering?

BellissimoGecko · 04/12/2025 18:54

Oh ffs. The GLP needs to STFU.

GG and the WI are charities set up for women and girls.

It is perfectly legal for these organisations to exclude groups of people under certain circumstances.

Section 193 of the Equality Act ‘allows charities to provide benefits only to people who share the same protected characteristic (eg sex, sexual orientation or disability) if this is in line with their charitable instrument’ - which it is for both the WI and GirlGuiding. They were both set up to cater for girls/women.

It’s really important for girls to have their own spaces away from boys too, for many reasons.

If you’re interested in equality law, I suggest you follow Audrey Ludwig MBE - she explains things very clearly, and is always accurate.
