Supporting someone because they are "nice" rather than whether the issue they are standing up for is worthwhile is lacking in real conviction.

This article gives a clear outline of the incidents and provocations that have led to a court case and the over the top arrest.

I do hope this is the start of looking a free speech in a more informed less competitive battle ground.

Sadly not just on women's sex based rights, we have seen politicians, over amplified by the media create a culture that makes too many people think they cant have an opinion.

Or maybe even worse, cant have a conversation about not necessarily seeing eye to eye with someone else because they might be cancelled.

It's all brilliant , but a shame nick wallis is listened to , but the women's voices were too shrill to be heard.
edit to say , it's not a shame nick Wallis is getting heard, but it's awful that all us women and the women journalists have been ignored or lost their jobs. I noticed in another thread about an employment tribunal . A mumsnetter did some digging , and within hours the thread had appeared in the daily Mail and Michael Foran had commented on it .

I can't for the life of me understand how Watson's reports or complaints are not automatically binned by the police, much less how they are acted upon instead of receiving a polite automated "Oh dear how sad never mind" response. Apart from their emptiness, the personality of the complaint should by now be a huge red flag?

Good stuff from Nick Wallis, He DGAF. I totally understand the feelings of you good vipers, but there have been good women who have spoken out about this and they have certainly been listened to. I hope that Nick's article will be some kind of catalyst for change, I hope it does, just keeping my fingers crossed.

Good article but only a hint that GL isn't the only one that's been targeted by LW and his cabal.

Fantastic! So Glinner has helped bring about a move towards the end of police investigating 'non-crime hate incidents'. He should be thoroughly applauded for what he has done for both women's rights and for freedom of speech. The police have been acting way beyond their jurisdiction and this is a significant step forward.

To add to the praise: no pronouns used for 'Brooks', and the word transwoman didn't appear either: he even explained 'trans identified male=a male who identifies as female.

Looking forward to the responses. Agree that it's shit that men are listened to more than women, but Wallis isn't just any man- he has earnt a huge amount of trust for the work he's done and I am glad he's 'spending' his trust and reputation on this.

I looked at some of the comments on the article and haven’t found a single one which in any way disagreed yet.

I also don’t think the police are naive. They know exactly what they are doing.

It’s less that and more that he is an ex police officer so he knows all the right noise to make and laws/acts to cite and given it’s all of a bit of a grey area, they probably go along with it to shut him up. But Mark Rowley’s sentiments about not getting involved in “toxic culture wars” - as much as I hate that expression - may well stem the tide.

I feel a tiny bit sorry for the ex police guy though. Imagine his life, alone in his parents’ basement, an unemployed, pathetic loser, all because of a Malaga style fetish that’s finally getting called out for what it is. He must be very cross.

I wonder if the judge saw the YouTube video I posted upthread? It provides valuable context to Glinner's actions.

He threatens them with demanding a judicial review if they don't. This is time consuming, expensive and puts police through a stressful process away from actual policing.

He knows exactly how to play the system. Tbh it's now reached a point where it's clear it's NOT cheaper and less time consuming/ stressful to challenge Watson because he's done this so many times and it's now getting so much publicity, so I think this is now starting to impact on the police response too.

The UK really needs to get wiser to vexatious litigation and the male practice of abusing people (in particular, fathers abusing mothers) through the courts.
