I was grateful to Edith for the reminder. If I go quiet for a whole Bluestocking relocation that’s probably why - I am still here but under a default name, which often changes.

I only put in the reminder because it was included in the opening post on the last thread and I thought, hm, yes, good idea.

Though I am Edith all over FWR.

Is this like the pineapple on pizza thing?

I like lights (warm white is good, other colours ok but too much of the cold blue LEDs isn’t a good thing) but we don’t have any. When we got our first tree when DD was small we always went away for Xmas and having lights which weren’t turned on seemed like a ‘we’re not at home Mr Burglar’ sign. And somehow we never got round to getting any.

I prefer warm white lights.

Strings off lights are a bit like balls of wool... DH has very little idea how many I have stashed away.

Sorry I'm late. I'd have helped with the move but I was in bed having the strangest dream about Tunnock's flavoured spaghetti (who the fuck puts Tunnock's in spaghetti?). Then an actor playing a beetle turned up climbing in the window screaming "let me back I'm @Anactor and it's my house" She then kept throwing herself back out of the window then climbing back in.

It was mayhem.

I really must lay off the drugs until at least tea time.

I haven't been in much the last few days because, in my spiritual role as Pastor of Muppets, I have had to devote much of my attention to events in Liverpool, where Kermit is struggling to defend his leadership against a power grab by Miss Piggy, who in turn insists that the donor money is just resting in her account.

I have found just about every lost item in the Bluestocking ever, but alas the Tunnock's allude me.

Then they needed to call the capybaras to subdue the spaghetti.

Not going to lie, the spaghetti is scary!

This seems to be one of the less smooth moves. I'm going to settle down with a bottle of Plymouth Gin from the freezer and a stack of small bottles of tonic in the old Bluestocking until the dust settles.

Does one of those tins have a pair of scissors with pink handles in it, Boily? I have lost mine, and it may have been when I was shortening one of the bargerbils’ serving aprons when she kept tripping over the hem.

I'm not around much these days because of people traipsing through my house fixing things - or scheduling things to be fixed after Christmas in some cases.

It's all a bit much, I don't have much resilience when taken out of my usual routine - that's a feature of fibromyalgia: I can just about deal with everyday stuff, but anything additional really knocks me out.
But I'm trying to be positive and focus on how great it is that the work is getting done, rather than the hassle.

Thank you for the new thread. For a moment or two I thought I'd take advantage of it to namechange - remember when I was briefly an iguana? my new name was going to be IggyStardust

I've had my first mulled wine of the Christmas season, sadly not served by a bargerbil. I'd be up for another one if the gerbils are still on duty.

Mentions of Xmas fare made me momentarily misinterpret the ad I’m getting at the top of the page in the MN app at the moment - ‘Turkey Kidney Doctors’.

Sympathies on your house fixing woes, Marie - we found our roof fixing saga over the last few weeks pretty disruptive and wearing, and that was all outside.
Your name suits you and the Bluestocking really ought to have at least one feminist philosopher! - and much as I’d like another reptilian pal I just can’t see you as scaly, spiky and cold blooded.

Thanks to the thread title I'm flip-flopping between "Cartoon Boyfriend" by The Wonder Stuff (showing my age there) and the theme tune to Soap (showing my age even more) as my current earworm.
