very clear headline. Very misleading. I clicked on it thinking that poor Ellie had 2 people after her as I knew about the man. But no, it’s the same person, just shoddy reporting.
I wonder if more people will notice this misrepresentation now that there’s been a bit of discussion about Beeb bias.

Woman jailed for harassing Rachel Reeves’s MP sister

Tracey Smith sent the government minister and MP Ellie Reeves 22 emails and 10 voicemails

I just came to post something very similar. Woman jailed for harassment of a woman. Oh no, it's a man..... Come on, surely even the Guardian knows times up?

Maybe this is their death rattle.
Either way, the story doesn't really demonstrate that men who identify as women are safe and stable does it?
I wonder which prison he's gone to. 26 weeks apparently.

I hate to say this (because I have a close friend who's a trans woman) but it's a very male crime. By which I mean that I think a woman would harass someone in a cleverer way so that they seemed more innocent. Maybe I'm just being sexist.
Additionally, criminals can be anybody, and the gender of the criminal should not be a factor in how we think or talk about it.

The sex of the criminal is very relevant in how we think and talk about crime though. Men are vastly more likely to be violent than women so that must factor into the assessment of risk posed by an individual. It's one of the reasons why having trans women in female prisons is such an unworkable proposition.

In female prisons the rehabilitation programs focus a lot on building up the women's self esteem and helping them escape the influence of bad men in their lives. That's not what men (including trans women) need.

The Telegraph has an article on this case, they don’t clarify that a trans woman is male though.

Edit: because Ellie Reeves is also an MP as well as her more well known sister the Chancellor Rachel Reeves the article could have been clearer.

Do we know where he was jailed? As the Labour gov stated last week they’ve not housed any male prisoners on the female estate
