Lib Dems still don’t know what a woman is

According to Ed Davey, the Liberal Democrats fully agree with the SC ruling. Except they don’t.

Why would any woman vote for these clowns?

Men are better at womanning than women are. It's well known. (By men, at any rate).

🤦‍♀️

Though not by men who want to have sex with women. They are rather fussier.

Actually it looks like I made a mistake blaming the men. Lib Dem women voted for this man Confused.

Kind of reminds me of a couple of fag hag friends back in the 80s (sorry if that term is offensive) - fawning over gay men, just because they were gay men. Is that still a thing?

LadyBracknellsHandbagg · 26/09/2025 08:27

They’re doubling down on it now, look at the response from this charming misogynist. Women who believe people can’t change sex are ‘a fringe group’ apparently.

I mean it’s not legal and anyone challenging this should win in court but do women really have to spend their time preparing court cases against every damned idiot in the country? Gah 🤦‍♀️

Ah but therein lies the clue, LibDem "women"
It would be interesting to know how many bio women are left...

FortheloveofPetethePlumber · 26/09/2025 12:27

They know exactly what a woman is, they are just wholly committed to a pretence that they don't in the name of suppressing and destroying women's rights to benefit men.

I wish they'd be up front about their belief that men are more important by the fact of binary sex at birth, and about the importance of enabling male self expression at the expense of women in every way, but it's something they don't seem to have the courage to own. So a bit cowardly about their beliefs really, and not a great indicator of a future government that would a) have a grip or b) have integrity.

Vote accordingly.

FirstCuppa · 26/09/2025 12:31

Maybe the actual women could take the main party to court now as this is surely illegal since the Supreme Court clarity? We need to resolve this now before it fucks the GE. If Davies has to go then so be it. Clean sweep of the fringe trans fanciers and get back to the real world.

BoeotianNightmare · 26/09/2025 12:31

When did this happen?

Its not so simple if your only meaningful choice in the ballot box is Lib Dems versus another party you despise.

ladybirdsanchez · 26/09/2025 12:37

The Lib Dems are absolute morons on this. We have a very good LD MP for our area and I would happily vote for her, but this is the hill I've chosen to die on and I simply will not vote for her until she and her party acknowledge not only the SC ruling, but biological reality.

FirstCuppa · 26/09/2025 12:38

Exactly - I've voted for them and would do again bar this. If they honestly think the trans ideology is more important than half of the population they're no better than Labour. I'm not having a man pretend he knows what policies I would want in a party because he says he is a woman. Fuck that.

DuesToTheDirt · 26/09/2025 13:33

I find it hugely insulting and will not vote for anyone who insults me.

It’s worth pointing out that ‘Lib Dem Women’ (ha ha) are not the same thing as Liberal Voice For Women.

The latter do know what a woman is, understand and support the Supreme Court decision on sex being biological, and value women’s rights. They are making waves in the Lib Dems and will be at conference.

I hear you. I'm politically homeless as are many. If there was an election tomorrow, I think it's likely that for the first time in my life and from a lifetime belief in the importance of voting even if just as in recent history it's been choosing the least worst/dangerous from a grim selection, I honestly wouldn't vote.

I've spoilt my ballot a couple of times over this. I wrote "Adult Human Female" across the middle of it.

FirstCuppa · 26/09/2025 21:21

I guess all we can do is write to them, maybe via their site, and make strong suggestions they stop gaslighting us. If they won't listen we know where we stand.

I saw this the other day but if I am honest I am petrified the trans movement will hack them and put members details at risk. I have seen what the crazy side of the transwomen are capable of so, much as I would love to sign up and fully support I don't feel comfortable almost putting a target on my back. Therein lies the problem; it has to be a whole party movement that they understand the law, not a version of Corbyn and his pockets of juxtaposing factions.
