I couldn't screenshot it, but an application form that had:

"Are you trans ?" *as a question.

Mandatory (of course). The same form only offered "Gender" not "Sex" - albeit with just Male or Female as required answers.

US based software (clearly).

I wonder if this will become actionable in the UK. Or will Trumps threat that US software beats everyone elses laws going to cause the UK to amend it's own laws.

Fun times. Thank deity I am old.

Why couldn’t you screenshot?

Brothisbest · 28/08/2025 15:18

What company?

I'm a bit single (or simple 😀) minded when I'm in a task ...

Fair enough

just post a link

I would like to see what you’re referring to before commenting

That leads to a search page for jobs op

but no application anywhere

if you go on the application form itself, copy the link and then post… that’ll do it

Itchyoureye · 28/08/2025 19:33

So you made this all up OP

ArabellaScott · 28/08/2025 20:18

OP, don't feel pressured to post anything you don't feel comfortable posting.

I've seen something similar to this before, although it was more along the lines of 'do you have a trans history' or 'do you consider yourself trans'.

ArabellaScott · 28/08/2025 20:21

Here is a screenshot link from the form, for anyone who for some reason thinks this wasn't a thing. 'Gender' had female or male as a choice, trans had 'yes/no/unsure/prefer not to say'.

ArabellaScott · 28/08/2025 20:23

Trying that again.

I hope it has good connotations, i.e. its purpose is to weed out the trans drama llamas. Few employers want them and their toilet shenanigans and "rights" and fekkin pronouns and general all round shite these days.

That's my positive take on it anyway!

ArabellaScott · 28/08/2025 20:32

It's to monitor to ensure that protected characteristics are being represented appropriately in the application process.

These are all questions one should be free to not answer, in my view.

wuminty · 28/08/2025 20:35

Does it ask about disability, pregnancy, homosexuality? Sorry sexual orientation.
