"Gender affirming doctors cause a serious form of mental illness called shared psychosis. They stop children with developmental problems learning to separate reality from fantasy. Gender identity obscures this unethical behaviour."

There is no doubt in my mind that this will be looked back on as a major medical scandal.

Some will never accept this, of course.

PrawnofthePatriarchy · 09/07/2025 19:05

I've been saying this for more than a decade it's going to rival eugenics in the abhorrence it will create among future generations.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 09/07/2025 19:12

💯

Thanks OP - that's an excellent article. I particularly liked the 1st para:
"Gender affirming doctors cause a serious form of mental illness called shared psychosis. They stop children with developmental problems learning to separate reality from fantasy. Gender identity obscures this unethical behaviour".

I suggested on a different thread that some of the batshit comments we see on Mumsnet are from transactivist adults who are unable to separate reality from fantasy. They get a lot of attention from women on here with their provocative posts but actually it's extremely sad as many posts suggest they're unable to function appropriately in the adult world.

WarriorN · 09/07/2025 20:11

Shared psychosis.

Abso-fucking-lutely

BettyBooper · 09/07/2025 20:13

Really interesting article. Thanks OP.

BettyBooper · 09/07/2025 20:14

Particularly noted the difference between gender non conforming and cross dressing.

happydappy2 · 09/07/2025 20:34

From the article...

Like the rest of modern medicine, psychiatry is being transformed from a clinical discipline focused on optimising health to a commercial activity focused on maximising revenue.

  1. The medical profession must call out and reject the use of trans children to promote the political goals of trans rights activists

This is what we've all been saying for years....males with sexual fetishes needed children to validate their 'trans' identity. When we all know they are just male transexuals.

This is just so sad-so many families torn apart by this ideology, so many young bodies harmed and so many young people now life long medical patients.

TheywontletmehavethenameIwant · 09/07/2025 20:37

Thanks for the link OP.

".... gender doctors created a pseudoscientific cover that allows trans patients to avoid conscious awareness of the immutability of sex. Gender identity is the central fallacy of gender medicine. It is a scientifically meaningless label designed to obscure the fact that the desire to change sex is a mental illness."

Nailed it. It's good to see such an article coming from Australia, I know the women's right's group down under are having to push bush back up a majorly steep hill, I'm sure this an article will, from such a qualified person, help them in their fight.

He’s in Queensland and the QLD government is the first of the state governments to look at the medical issues and be the thin end of the wedge. https://www.health.qld.gov.au/research-reports/reports/review-investigation/hormone-therapies-review

My real fundamental take away from the whole thing is that the affirming literally makes things worse. It bases everything on a lie, which snow balls and gets more and more ingrained until inevitably it comes into contact with an immovable object in the real world and these poor unfortunate people utterly come apart and start screaming things like "genocide".

It is literally a shared psychosis, one that affirming doctors, Reddit, The Guardian etc. all do their best to continue.

In many ways it's Queer Theory or post modern theory writ large. Truth does not exist, reality is what you say it is.

There are Four Lights. . Whatever the party might tell you.

What a great article that gets to the root of the problem.

Until recently the number of people unable to tolerate the reality that sex can not be changed was vanishingly small, and they preferred to remain hidden. They either completed suicide or retreated into fantasy, often leading to extreme measures like self-castration.
Psychiatrists who treated these patients had no doubt they were affected by severe mental illness. They only started considering physical treatment alternatives like hormones and surgery after psychotherapy failed to help.

I'd agree with your take, it a very good summery of the situation, the intentions may have been good but they've just made things far, far worse. It goes way beyond telling white lies to comfort distressed people, the brainwashing that's behind all of the ideologies that have post-modernism at there root, is off the charts.

Whatisthisdamnednonsense · 11/07/2025 15:24

Look forward to reading this. I’ve thought for a long time that it’s a cult of brainwashed delusionals.

SingleSexSpacesInSchools · 11/07/2025 16:46

Queer theory is just bad for our children, and for society, queer theory activists pushing their garbage has literally lead to things like

  • Reluctance to challenge inappropriate sexual behaviour, for fear of seeming “oppressive” or “judgemental”
  • Resistance to safeguarding norms like age checks, chaperones, or vetting
  • Pushback against parental rights, especially if parents are seen as “gatekeepers” to a child’s identity or sexuality
  • Increasing calls to treat children as sexually autonomous from a young age, language drawn directly from queer theory

The club at my children's secondary school is called:

Queer Club.

That's what Peter Thatchell is always advocating, I saw an interview where he said something along the lines of 'he didn't see why a 9 year old wasn't capable of deciding that they could have sex'.

I was never a fan of his but now I'm an enemy. Disgusting man.

It's why Queer theory say's sex is a spectrum, it needs it to be so, because it can then bring down all of the barriers society has put in place to try to protect it's self from the sleezy bottom feeding people.

Good grief. Our poor children with these unhinged adults feeling free to impose unboundaried queer theory on them.

EasternStandard · 11/07/2025 20:18

Very much agree with that quote.

peanutbuttertoasty · 11/07/2025 20:46

I mean…. It’s pretty fucking obvious, no?

CinnamonCinnabar · 11/07/2025 21:29

Interesting parallels with functional disorders - there are definitely people with functional issues which are worsened by having an overly supportive family who ingrain illness behaviours or encourage/ fund 'doctor shopping' and end up having harmful treatments by rogue online specialists (see also - chronic Lyme disease, Havana syndrome)

Seriestwo · 12/07/2025 06:47

What have we allowed? Some people should be in jail.

Particularly horrible to wholeheartedly agree with this, while still living in a state that backs the doctors and all their supporters over us.

As @peanutbuttertoasty says, it seems so obvious now, but the psychological journey to get here wasn’t that easy for me. Not that I ever believed men were women, but the medical profession succumbing to a total state of psychosis wasn’t something I would have ever imagined.

I don’t think many of them truly believe the outrageous lie that some men are women/female, but I think they have fallen into agreeing that some patients benefit and it shouldn’t be questioned and that the only reasonable course is for the world to bend around them, without questioning why these are the only patients who are encouraged in an obvious delusion.

Honestly sick of it all. The fall of gender medicine is taking far too long.

BeeSouriante · 12/07/2025 21:01

I can see why he's an "academic psychiatrist" posting his "work" on Twitter 😂

He should probably actually go and at least look up what 'shared psychosis' is.

Reminds me a few years back when that weird little guy (?Esses) 'published' an article on his substack which, unlike this one, actually had some references (10 IIRC), so I went to check his references and only 2 of them actually related to what he was saying (and one of those was from a religious right crank). Like, at least try
