RCN emailing members about Supreme Court Ruling

Surroundedbyidiots57 · 19/06/2025 10:24

Just had this email from RCN.
It reads to me as if they want to keep their position that "transwomen are women" which led to them refusing to support nurses who object to sharing changing rooms.
Perhaps I am just a sceptic though.
I will be sending in my views.

Is it me or does the last picture say "no debate" just with more words.
We won't be replying to any attempt to disagree or engage us on this matter.

I think in this instance it is reminding members that the issuing email is for sending info out only and any replies should be sent to the usual inbox not the one that issued this (this is standard across lots of orgs)

But yes I do read it as twaw and a big FU to cunty women.

Agree it doesn’t look good but maybe if they were flooded with responses from nurses on the front line telling them what it’s like being forced to strip in front of men at the start and end of every shift, to see patients avoid healthcare because it isn’t single sex and to learn about being screamed at by entitled TRAs for doing your job then maybe they will listen. This body is there to regulate and support nurses not bring about the glorious trans revolution.

Dumbo12 · 19/06/2025 10:43

I'm guessing this was sent out by the DEI officer, who still is brainwashed by Stonewall. Given the majority of RCN members are women and the number of trans identified people will be a tiny minority, it appears that they are still pandering to the cross dressing men.

Why do you need to share your thoughts about a clear law that has to be followed by you and your employers? Did they issue a similar email to all those working or living in Wales regarding the 20mph law which surely had greater impacts on travel time/less home life?

rebmacesrevda · 19/06/2025 10:53

Maybe they’re looking for ideas to use as their legal defence when Sandie Peggie takes them to court.

Conxis · 19/06/2025 10:55

This ^
If be replying stating that you expect the union to follow the law and to support members when their employers are breaking the law, whatever that law is.

TwoLoonsAndASprout · 19/06/2025 11:13

The consultation by the EHRC on the SC ruling is open to anyone to fill in. So, if you felt that your employer or union or whoever might be responding on your behalf, but saying things you disagree with, you could always pop along and respond yourself:

https://www.equalityhumanrights.com/equality/equality-act-2010/codes-practice/code-practice-consultation-2025-changes-chapter-2

I believe it is open until the 30th of this month.

This is probably not totally fanciful!

Notfinanciallyresponsibleforyou · 19/06/2025 12:33

They only want to hear from us if we are sending the right message back. If we express concerns that are not in line with the RCN viewpoint we are not welcome. The RCN has become separated from the majority of its hardworking female members

I am hoping there will be more smaller nursing unions started.

well they can want all they want but does not change the law

Unions are allowed to campaign to challenge laws but if they wish to do this they should just a clear question "do you agree with the court ruling"

I doubt they would like the results

This looks like they will just cherry pick answers

Hahahahahahaha! And breathe....Hahahahahaha!

Oh goodie.

TeiTetua · 19/06/2025 15:19

I wonder if this is testing the waters, so to speak. They want to see if they'll get responses saying "Those poor transgender people, we must support them" or more along the lines of "Let's put this transgender nonsense away once and for all". They know the law is against them, and they might want to see what the membership thinks, without actually saying "We've obviously been on the losing side".

MarieDeGournay · 19/06/2025 15:44

Again with the 'this has all been so hard on poor LGBTQIA+ members!'😡
Zero reference to how hard it has all been on women members, of which the RCN must have quite a few...
And leave the LGB cohort out of it, they were not adversely affected by the SC ruling.
Not to mention whatever the RCN thinks the 'I' in LGBTQIA+ means..

moto748e · 19/06/2025 15:53

I wouldn't want to be a member of any club that talked about 'LGBTQIA+'.

Alphabet soup red flag!

Is this anywhere of a web page. Hard to make sense of the screen shots.

Or just copy the text of the email?

PennyAnnLane · 19/06/2025 18:43

I’m guessing their ‘safe, inclusive space’ won’t be inclusive of those who agree with the Supreme Court judgement!
