I'm sure this will be reported elsewhere but didn't see a thread on it. It's diabolical that this is still happening inside our prisons.

There's a couple of threads on this! She's consulting solicitors and might proceed with legal action. JKR has offered legal funding.

Thanks for sharing, OP. There were a couple of pieces in the Sunday Times about this - as reb says, there have been other threads. I find it particularly disgusting that the article says: "A Scottish Government spokesperson said the housing of prisoners was a matter for the SPS." But the SPS is part of the Scottish government - and it is breaking the law. It is not a completely independent organisation. The Scottish government should put a stop to this immediately.

Thanks folks, I'm happy that there a there are other threads so I'll try a bit harder and go and find those. I was trying to remember what was promised during the whole Isla Bryson episode. And I agree, the prison service is not an independent service able to make up it's own rules.
