I have no words.

It's wild, isn't it? I'm quite lucky that the area I work in isn't awash with ideology. But, I'm about to do my annual mandatory training, and dreading it. I really struggle to keep my mouth shut when I'm being "taught" bollocks. If they're still peddling this crap in staff training I might have to blow the whistle.

It's so important that these systems and policies are brought back into line with reality, not just in the NHS but frankly especially in the NHS. It's an absolute disgrace.

Hats off to the MN auditors who devoted their time and energy to get the facts and draw attention to this issue. I'm glad to see that journalists are following the story.

It's utterly incredible. How do you treat people if you can't ask or record their actual biological sex? Do trans people actually believe this is a good idea?

Wes Streeting has brought NHS England back in house and is now positioned to issue instructions. We even have a Data Bill before Parliament. A late amendment could reinstate sex in NHS dictionaries and data codes. Gender identity could be removed in its entirety. No more excuses – we can get to work.'

(I would add that there may be the possibility to leave gender identity there as a marker, so long as sex is recorded clearly and accurately and treatment is based on sex.)
