"concerns were raised that the Met’s LGBTQ+ Network had not be consulted"

LOL

I sometimes wonder if these people ever read back something that they produce on a kneejerk write and reflect on it.

Yep, gave me a laugh too. Why the fuck would they?

They had to get a wee mention of JKR in as well. They're actually obsessed.

Going forward will the LGBT++ network consult the GC network before making statements, influencing policy etc

TheOtherRaven · 09/05/2025 19:55

Hasn't been consulted.... the entitlement is front and centre all the time.

Given the revelations about the Met's dubious obsession with extreme transactivism and transactivists showcased in an employment tribunal (link below), this is long overdue :

“The Buddhist staff network is concerned that they were not consulted before the atheist network was established”.

Bonkers.

PriOn1 · 09/05/2025 20:49

Good luck to them, say I. There are courageous women and men popping up everywhere.

As in the Civil Service, lgbT+ groups have been given way too much power and leeway.

It looks like this is the group Melanie Newman has been trying to set up for months, but was thwarted by threats to GC officers, and the usual accusations of bigotry. I didn't follow the case at the time, but her witness statement makes for grim reading. She is made of stern stuff, and I hope this news today is a hint that she's won the tribunal...

Newman vs The Metropolitan Police

Melanie Newman was a trainee police constable with the Metropolitan Police with gender critical beliefs.

The comments are great

'Gender is not a state of mind, and the “gender critical” ideology is not shared by people across political persuasions. It is definitionally a far right political ideology which seeks to strip rights away from trans and intersex people and to dismantle scientific and medical institutions.'
House

'Gender is not 'a state of mind'. The MPS will end up being sued if they are not careful with their language & views.'
If they hire the you know who to do the suing, they'll lose for sure.

'The police have always been transphobic just reminded them one day we will win and then saying they were only obeying orders didn't work for the ss another police state that singled out different groups of people '
🤣
