The Week Junior- no mention of the SC ruling?

Does anyone else get The Week Junior for their kids? Just wondering if I’m going completely mad, but I can’t see a single mention of the Supreme Court ruling re women’s rights in law. I thought their aim was to explain all the news in a way that was clear for children to understand. Why haven’t they covered this?

My DD gets it. And you're right - I've given a quick scan through the last couple of issues to check if they have covered it (and how they've covered it) but nothing, which really surprised me.

Honestly I thought I was going mad and just couldn’t see it. I can’t believe they have made a deliberate decision to exclude a major piece of news that has been in the headlines.

How up to date is it? Could it be in a future issue?

I asked my DD (12) whether there was anything in it about the Supreme Court, and she said "no, maybe they don't want to be called TERFs" 😄 I responded that they should be reporting on it in a balanced way (I'd hope!)

I am being cautious in how I discuss this with her. I did tell her about the ruling and why it matters to people, and she seemed to think it made sense and was a good outcome. However, she is an impressionable age, and I am trying to handle these type of conversations with tact. I was hoping the Week Junior would be a good starting point to talk about it.

We get it on a Friday, and it covers the previous week's news. There has been nothing at all about it in the last two issues. They do cover 'big' topics in an age-appropriate way, so it's surprisingly there has been no mention of it at all.

Oh is it? 😟 I normally just give it a quick skim read, and I haven't seen a thing about GI in it. My DD12 really enjoys it, and my youngest dd sometimes reads it too.
