Disappointed that the judge used "She"

when speaking about 'trans-women', in the supreme court yesterday.

I hate the fact that we have to refer to cos-playing men as "She/her".

I hate we have to say "trans women".

They are not women, and calling them women obscures the reality of the situation.

You don't have to say "trans women". Just say "males" or "male people" or "males who claim to be women". Or "men who say they're women". MCW for short.

Strange but since the ruling I've found myself using 'trans women' more, because i know that they AREN'T women, so it doesn't seem so threatening now.

I don’t know what trans-women should be referred to as now? Or what they would want themselves to be called?

If ‘woman’ now means biologically female, then as they can’t “transition” into a biological woman, that must mean they cannot be classed as a “trans-woman” can they?!

So what will they label themselves as?

I expect they’ll carry right on calling themselves trans women (with a space), or just women, or even females.

Hopefully the press, courts etc will now refrain from referring to males as ‘women’, as we’ve seen in far too many headlines.

Can they not be "men or women who are trans"? Perhaps shortened to "trans"?

My only confusion is about what the term trans is short for. I thought it was transvestite, but is it transition? If so, then it's too vague.

Transgender. No need to add on man or woman as this will be obvious.

The entire media seems to use "trans woman " or "transgender woman" and I swear a good percentage of people have no idea they are male.
Makes my blood boil.

Yes your view that the public think that 'trans women' are actual women who think they are male was born out in a poll. Thinking that trans women are women makes women more sympathetic towards them.
