Please can Tom Swarbrick replace James O'Brien's slot

Just that really. I used to be a compulsive LBC listener. I thought JOB had great view points and insights on Brexit but on women's rights he's a bin fire. He refuses to understand women's viewpoints.

Agree, I now switch him off and hope others do because lower listening figures will get him off the radio. Love Sheila and Tom.

I can't bear to listen to JOB, Sheila's show was great today.

His coverage today was shameful and failed to acknowledge how women have suffered. He really needs to educate himself.

JOB is always on a longwinded learning curve where he tries to make an understanding of the matter. He fails often like today. The ranting 20min introductions to his shows aren’t for me. I want to hear the callers without JOB personal life story, learning curve input. All the other presenters I listen to - it’s a great radio station - please get rid of the trying to make an understanding shows of JOB and get him back on track. On Brexit he did great just to say.

Sheila and Tom were brilliant and respectful as always.

James less so: 'women - if you have an issue with males in your spaces you're evil and a bigot' seemed to be the vibe. Jog on James.

I just knew JOB would go that way, unbearable, I didn’t want his simpering on to ruin what is a good day. Just been catching up listening to Joanna Cherry on Iain Dales show and wow she was incredible!!!

I switch off James O’Brien. I can’t bear him and his self indulgent rants. I love Sheila and Tom and I really like Iain Dale’s show as he has good guests with different viewpoints. James is so sanctimonious.

he has always been a vile bully just because he is left wing in his views (some I agree with) does not make him a nice person but he appears to be under the impression that it does. He has always shouted down callers particularly woman and working class callers his contempt for many callers who disagree with him has always been apparent

I think this is what I find most enlightening about the number of GC left wing women. It's like they only now realise how intolerant the left (and the vast majority of the media) has been for years because there is now something they disagree with. I guess most people want to hear what they agree but it is interesting that someone said upthread how they though what he said on Bexit etc made sense, yes because you agreed with it. They key is really to have some balance and show both sides but very few journalists seem to do that now.

I suspect James OB has always been fairly insufferable in his approach. Imagine writing a book called "how to be right" with a straight face! I agree with him on a lot and had enjoyed some clips on social media but when I tried to listen to him on LBC I thought it was a very poor and cheap approach he takes, with very little will to listen to alternative points of view. I couldn't stand to listen at all.

Having said that I don't know that Tom S is much better from clips I've seen.

I remain “of the left” and have been appalled to find myself agreeing with many Tories and others “to the right”. Labour lost me over this. Feels horrible to be honest. The issue shouldn’t be one of the left or right.
