Abigail Wilson walked off the Disc Golf Pro Tour’s Music City Open. For our trolls - no idea if this paper is right wing since I'm not American and I dont care who reports if they do it honestly.. www.westernjournal.com/another-female-athlete-bows-front-trans-opponent-catching-fire/

I think the more this happens, the more it will keep happening. Over the last year public opinion has shifted on this issue precisely because of the obvious inequity of biological females being expected to concede values and medals to biological males who demand to be perceived as women. It is great that female sportswomen now feel empowered to speak up. They have been censored and censured for long enough.

Such bravery. Hopefully there will be a domino effect.

I don't care either. And anyway, the "right wing" sources are often more accurate on this subject.

The fencing has really caught the media attention.

And two males competing in the final for the pool is quite eye opening.

Very brave, thanks for sharing @anyolddinosaurand interesting that the sport isn’t going to penalise her. It’s almost as if they know they are doing the indefensible by letting men in.

I actually have no idea what "disc golf" is but isn't it odd that these men who cant make it in the men's game do very well when competing against women. "The trans competitor who prompted Wilson’s protest, Natalie Ryan, first garnered attention in September 2022 after winning the women’s division at the Discraft Great Lakes Open, and achieving a rank as one of the world’s top five female-classified disc golfers."

Because of the showmanship (womanship) of it - the whole taking the knee in front of her opponent was great theatre and worked brilliantly on social media. Not like just quietly withdrawing, which is what trans activists would have preferred, because of course a no show doesn't attract any coverage

It's like frisbee, but throwing at a target.

So upper body strength, explosive muscle power, size of hands, hand/eye coordination.

Nothing there to advantage males.

This was featured on Pink News TikTok and it's interesting that about 50% of the comments support Abigail. Would not have expected that on Pink News! I've been trying to reply to some of the usual comments. "It doesn't matter, get over yourself". "Skills issue". "There is no advantage to men in disc golf". And people are esp cross that Abigail said she felt unsafe. Apparently that word can only be used by trans people.

anyolddinosaur · 12/04/2025 21:42

Great that even (some) pink news readers can see when something is blatantly unfair.

I am amazed that a newspaper can print "Abigail Wilson decided to walk off the tour, rather than compete against a man pretending to be a woman in her division."
