'Women in all their diversity'

I attended a meeting of Labour Party women yesterday to discuss women's issues and noticed that 'women in all their diversity' was being used as a catch-all phrase by a couple of attendees. One woman questioned it and a member of the Welsh Labour Party cabinet was forced to admit that she included men in the definition.

If you hear the phrase being used and you are able to question it, please do.

So that'll be women and men 😑Idiots.

The UN and the EU are fond of using this phrase, too.

Why ' women in all their diversity ' and not 'men in all their diversity'?

Men are not a diverse form of women.

This just overwrites the actual and wonderful diversity of women to centre and prioritise the fantasies of men. It's an extremely sexist act.

Women in their diversity means regardless of ethnicity, age, sexuality, nationality etc. Incredibly dishonest to use such a phrase when you actually mean trans-identified men!

I must admit I'm intrigued possibly more than annoyed!
At least it makes a change for men to be "included" in a phrase mentioning women rather than the other way round!

Transwomen are a part of men in all their diversity. Transmen are a part of women in all their diversity. Idiots.

'Welsh Labour Party cabinet' says it all for me. It's so, so frustrating having women in positions of power with this attitude, they've completely diluted women to the point were women don't exists and then they call themselves feminists.

Even when it's not a weasel word, diversity has become a meaningless buzzword.

And I bet anything she doesn't say 'men in all their diversity'.

It has.

This political movement has a lot to answer for, in particular appropriating useful words and concepts for its own agenda and thereby destroying them and making a thorough mess for all. 'Woman' and 'kindness' are two that come immediately to mind. 'Lesbian' is another. 'Inclusive'.

Its like the term 'all women'.

They are hiding behind a false idea that when the word 'women' is used, the public can only imagine a white, hetrosexual, healthy, thin, young woman, not actual lady people with a variety of characters. Even though, half the population is female and the vast majority arent the imagined women.

But what they want to do is accuse the public of not imaging, say, disabled women, then casually include men in the list.

Oh god, this stuff is just so bloody tedious. And also: how fucking dare they try to redefine who we are?
Well done that woman for questioning it.
