Interesting thread from Scottish Labour Women's Declaration on recent actions from Labour MSP's and MPs recognizing the importance of sex vs gender.

There is still plenty of internal debate in Labour, but It looks like Scottish Labour leadership are actively going to focus on sex/gender as a weapon in the 2026 election. This is going to change the political landscape and make the SNP and Greens have to talk about a subject they would rather avoid.

Brilliant. It's such an obvious angle of attack against the SNP. And I'm sure it feels like relief for the Labour MSPs that they no longer have to support gender bullshit.

I hope they'll be all over this;

It's a shame that it's only because Scot Lab have taken this line because it's a vote loser, rather than because it's the rational, correct thing to do. Still, a win's a win.

Agree SinnerBoy but I’ll accept sanity from anyone whatever their motivation. Come on KS. It’s going to be tough weasling off down the ‘safe spaces’ route if Scottish Labour are full on SSS.

Great except there is way to much evidence that they supported this barn pottery, which will be used by other parties, not saying which ones, how you can't trust anything they say. Which is true.

True. However the SNP are now desperate to avoid talking about this. So anything that keeps it on the agenda is good. If they accuse Labour of changing their mind they are STILL on the subject.

Also there are other implications.

It will heighten the existing gender war inside Labour and further marginalise the TAs. It will strengthen the hand of Wes Streeting and others. It will make Labour have to engage in internal debate over issues like puberty blocker trials or conversion therapy more seriously too.

Also it has implications for Wales were much of Welsh Labour wants to follow a TA line.

So we don't forgive Sarwar for what he did. However we keep moving forward.

The truth is Scottish Women forced this to happen. This is what winning looks like. It is childish that Sarwar hasn't accepted how he betrayed women, but unlike a lot of SNPs he actually has changed. It is looking from her recent actions Ballie on the other hand has peaked and is trying to make up for lost time. I think she always had doubts, but was trying to be nice like so many others.

So well done Scottish women, that not wheeshting is starting to pay off. We salute you 👏
