Because as reported in the article, despite getting funding the appointment of staff and Board members would be up to the RCS management and should be private.

Just seems a strange story to have somehow got in the press. So I was just adding very little information to a speculative article!

(Mainly there aren't like a whole raft of jobs being advertised.)

As said up thread if this is true its nothing to do with the Government. Funded groups follow their own procedures for hiring.

What is more interesting is who is it that keeps leaking these stories about RCS?

If say it is true they have decided despite advertising a post as still being open for applications until 4 March, to some crony, fellow TWAW, someone in the organisation is not going to let them get away with it.

So Tess White didn't really help the situation as there is no evidence it is true.

But if she has evidence a publicly advertised job has been earmarked for someone that is what she should have raised.

And the newspaper should have done a bit more research.

Unfortunately it just shows that neither are that well informed.

Not that I would be a surprise to find someone had been shoe horned into a job.

But in terms of the credibility of RCS running themselves properly just the fact of giving the job to a friend ahead of the application deadline should surely be the clincher that they aren't running themselves properly.

I dont know which would be worse. To find out they have done this or to find out it is a false rumour and the RCS can then make a mountain out of how they are being victimised by revengeful terfs.

Nepotism and unsuitable people being put in positions of power is utterly unsurprising. This government is corrupt. Let's face it. Possibly wholly. Sturgeon and Murrell are still under investigation, I believe?

But attempting to have it all hushed up is what surprises me. Because so far they have gritted teeth and plodded on pretending they are the righteous ones. One could imagine self justification fallacy and delusion could account for a.lot - plus Hanlon's razor.

If they've suddenly realised they need to hide what they're doing then it signals they are fully aware of being in the wrong. Which is an interesting and infuriating point to be at.

Why is brindley still in post ?

Okay - obviously not in support of that but if there is no factual proof that she has been employed ie just a rumour based on no evidence or concocted or whatever, then it could be said they needed to end any mention of it.

Or would this session be covered by Parliamentary privilege.

So still shame that the MSP who started this didn't do a background check and provide evidence, ditto the newspaper.

I dont doubt that something like this could happen, but if it turns out it is a false rumour it will be used as further ammunition that RCS is being unfairly targetted.

ie enough of what they do is bad, there is no need to invent stuff.

If it is true then someone needs to come forward and provide the evidence.

I would just hope is this is another example of how RCS makes no effort to follow accepted practice in the charity sector they should be closed.

But as before, those overseeing charities in Scotland seem extremely lax.

And to add shouldn't Alison Thewliss have made some public statement about this as a declaration of interest.
