Megyn Kelly and Maddy Kearns on men in US women's prisons

The MKs do a deep dive into the new Trump policy on getting males out of federal women's prisons, and how things got this way. With particular reference to Rhonda Fleming, the prisoner who has been suing the Bureau of Prisons to establish her right not to be incarcerated with penis people, and getting very little joy from the courts.

Would any progressive on MN care to justify this shameful abuse of female prisoners? Maybe a vicar would like to explain why we shouldn't show these women compassion? You should hang your heads in shame, the lot of you.

The male prisoners are frightened of being sent back. Donna (previously Peter) Langan was the leader of the Aryan Republican Army with links to Neo Nazism and white supremacy when jailed. Apparently their violent persona was a mask for someone who was struggling for decades with their GI. In for life with no parole.

Transgender inmates panic as Trump's order sends them to men's prisons

Transgender inmates have been sent into a tizzy with President Trump's day one executive order that will send them back to men's prisons.

Also adding this in from an article written about Chase Strangio a while back. The TW asked for a trans unit in prison and the lawyers ignored them.

Y'know, that has actually made me really sad. All these vulnerable transpeople just being used and abused by activists

SionnachRuadh · 24/01/2025 01:10

Chase Strangio is surely Exhibit A for the whole concept of internalised misogyny.

Thanks for sharing that.

On one hand, i agree that prisons should not be segregated by sexual orientation. Because sexual orientation is not recognised as a safeguarding risk to other people, and that is important. Now if a person is assessed as being a vulnerable person, namely a homosexual person vulnerable to attack due to their sexual orientation, then that does need action by way of additional protection.

And the same protection should be given to a male person who has a transgender identity if they are assessed as being vulnerable. And it is highly likely that they are going to be in need of the additional layer of protection. But in a male prison.

On the other hand, if there is a discussion to be had that a special provision needs to be set up specifically for one group of prisoners, I am all for those discussions to be had. The discussion may not result in that special provision being established at the time but it needs to be considered from all angles and revisited if and when needed.

This 💯👏

A prison near me where I used to do volunteer work had a special unit and programme for sex offenders. I don't see why there shouldn't be a special unit for TW. I think it's pretty rare for transmen to be in prison, and the risk to other women in the women's prison isn't raised so much by the presence of transmen there as it is by the presence of transwomen.

I'm so glad that this has happened. I hope that the UK keeps moving in this direction as well.
It needs the Democrats to change direction as well or all could possibly just be reversed in 4 years time.
