Finally sport is fighting back against gender cult...

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/2024/12/29/2024-showed-protecting-womens-sport-really-matters/

I thought the section on Laura Woods was really good - she received far more horrible abuse than Oliver says he himself did, merely for responding to the piece he himself had written, thus highlighting the endemic misogyny of tras.

It finishes with a reiteration of Martina Navratilova's call to Gary Lineker to actually start using his profile to speak out against this - it should be easy, after women have done all the heavy lifting! Wonder if it will have any effect...

Overall, it's very hopeful, particularly about the prospect of Seb Coe becoming IOC president... apparently the elections are in March. I do hope his optimism is not misplaced.

Why do women need men to speak for them?

Why do women need men to speak for them?

Because some men (and women) are more likely to listen to men; because it's easier for men to speak out; because the more people we can get to speak out the better, the principle is more important than the sex of the speaker; because if men see it's something that involves them, then things are more likely to change.

Apologies -- I just saw the OP included a archive link already. Excellent article.

Thank you for link.

A great article. It beggars belief, that this ideology managed to be so successful. The travesty of the women’s boxing really peaked a lot of people. Hopefully Lord Coe will become the president of the IOC and hopefully all female sports at all levels will return to excluding men.

Great piece! Thanks for sharing. I remember posting a picture of Khelif with a sad face emoji on instagram and receiving many many messages saying that (s)he’s a woman and how dare I. One of the pertinent lines I like is, that wouldn’t it be cheaper for him to just do a cheek swab rather than sue JK and Elon.
What arseholes they all are.
I am beyond being polite or erudite anymore.
Just cheating arseholes.

Why do women need men to speak for them?

What an odd response to this article.

Why do women need men to speak for them? It's not speak FOR them, it's speak WITH them. Why? Because men are half the population and this insanity is so evil and pervasive it needs every intelligent individual to speak up.

Oliver Brown, the DT's Chief Sports Writer has been an outspoken supporter of fairness in sport since the whole trans/DSD saga began.

It is interesting to see his comment on Laura Woods (presenter of Games for Discovery) receiving terrible online abuse for writing "great article Oli" in response to his article on the boxing debacle. She was indundated with death threats to her unborn child.

"It laid bare the ingrained misogyny of those self-styled 'progressives' agitating for biological males to enter female sport. Yet again, they directed their worst slurs not at a man, but at a woman who had dared to raise her head above the parapet."

He nails it every time.We need more Oliver Browns in this battle, not fewer.

A couple.of.the other candidates have alsk made clear statements aboit protecting women's sport.

An excellent article - it's such a relief to read something like this after wading through the nonsense that pours out of papers like the Guardian.

heathspeedwell · 30/12/2024 11:34

Absolutely wonderful article, as usual from Oliver.

I have found that when discussing gender issues with men, they can't always understand why we don't want transwomen in our changing rooms. But when they look at the unfairness in sports, they grasp the situation right away.

Well said. He's been articulate and powerful over this. The Telegraph has always had excellent coverage of women's sport. The Times has been a disappointment in the sports department with a number of hard of thinking journalists writing puff pieces whining about women not welcoming men into their showers and changing rooms. Fortunately the other journalists on the Time are excellent.

great article - it was sport that peaked me on this issue
